Event: IPM National Conference - Christchurch
Attendees: approx. 275 members
Conference Theme: 'Priorities for Competitive Management'
Objective: to break the pattern of the conference and present the delegates with a stress management system based on interactive participation.
Implementation: the session itself seemed (to the delegates at least) like yet another platform speaker with something to say. Within ten minutes of dialogue, however, all 275 delegates were urged to stand, put aside their notes, and a support team moved among the crowd distributing sets of juggling balls to everyone. Pandemonium ensued, with ten 'volunteers' learning to juggle up on the stage, and the rest of the delegates throwing balls all over the place.
Results: the session over-ran by 15 minutes because everybody was enjoying themselves so much and they wanted to keep on practicing what they had learned. The rest of the afternoon was spent fielding questions from many delegates and even staff at the venue. Many commented that they had never been to such an unusual and entertaining session before.
Client Comments: "I want to thank you personally for the contribution you made to the conference's success. There can be no doubt that your session was one of the highlights of the conference, and that was entirely due to the energy and empathy with which your presentation was made."
